Wales is home to some of the very best walking routes in the world thanks to its extensive views and breath-taking landscapes. With such a range of terrain available, from gorge walks to waterfalls, it’s guaranteed to appeal to every ability and preference.

A walk in one of Wales’ National Parks guarantee’s thrilling views, regardless of whether it’s the dramatic mountainous scenery of Snowdonia in the North, or the soothing coastal landscape of Pembrokeshire to the South.

Alternatively, the option is there to explore one of Wales’ many Areas of Natural Beauty. For a tougher walk, the Clwydian Hills and Llyn Peninsula include ascents up gorgeous hills, while Gower boasts a friendlier route combined with refreshing sea air. Or, for those looking for a peaceful escape through the countryside, the Cambrian Mountains is a less popular walking spot but provides a range of challenging and relaxed routes.

Those on the hunt for a bigger challenge will find their dreams come true with the Wales Coastal Path. Covering the entire Welsh coast, the route is an 870-mile odyssey through sandy beaches, dramatic clifftops and gorges and secluded waterfalls and greenery. Unsurprisingly, walkers will want to break this adventure up with either a stay in one of the many rural campsites or luxurious hotels to reward a long day’s work.
