6 Glamping Pods in Snowdonia for a Glam Staycation

6 Glamping Pods in Snowdonia for a Glam Staycation

Glamping is very much the in-thing for UK staycations right now. For the uninitiated, it’s glamorous camping (clever, eh?) – combining the back to nature experience of camping with the luxury of a hotel or holiday cottage.

And what better place to go glamping than Snowdonia, the jewel of Wales and one of the most outstanding areas of natural beauty in the UK? Snowdonia offers something for everyone, including Mt. Snowdon, the tallest peak in England and Wales. Take in the stunning scenery by foot, bike or mountain railway. Explore caves, try white-water rafting and zip-lining, or enjoy a quiet afternoon in a quaint village café.

If you haven’t tried it yet, glamping is the perfect way to experience the area. Keen to give it a go? Below are some of the best glamping pods in Snowdonia – all you need to do is pick one then put your feet up and enjoy your break in the Welsh mountains.

Snowdonia glamping holidays you don’t want to miss

1. Torrent Walk Glamping Site – Dolgellau

Located a mile from the historic market town of Dolgellau in the heart of Snowdonia, Torrent Walk offers a choice of 3 glamping pods sleeping either 3 or 4 people, as well as a luxury, 5-sleeper Safari Tent. This pet-friendly site has all the home comforts you’d expect, along with barbeques and fire pits for the perfect glamping experience.

Besides being the perfect location for walking, biking and beaches, both Zip World and Portmeirion – the filming spot for The Prisoner – are only a short drive away.

2. Bala Campsite – Cefn-ddwysarn

If it’s a family holiday you’re after, the Camping and Caravanning Club’s campsite at Bala offers the luxuries of glamping with all the amenities of a professional campsite.

The large safari tents sleep up to 6 people and have kitchen and dining areas, along with private verandas. Nearby you’ll find stunning beaches at Rhyl and Colwyn Bay, as well as the magnificent Ffestiniog Railway – a great way to see Snowdonia!

3. Adventure Parc Snowdonia – Conwy

For those who want to combine their glamping holiday with an adrenaline rush, we’d highly recommend Adventure Parc. The park offers over 20 glamping pods in Snowdonia, each sleeping up to 4 people. Besides beds, the pods come with heating, electricity and a private decking area.

While it may not be overly glamorous, Adventure Parc more than makes up for it in on-site facilities. Learn to surf in the surf lagoon or at the beach. Try a variety of activities including zip-lining, climbing, mountain biking, skateboarding and paddle boarding. Then relax in one of the bars, restaurants or the Wave Garden Spa.

4. Siabod Huts – Betws-y-Coed

Siobod Huts comprises 2 custom-built luxury shepherd huts and an accompanying glamping pod. Located on a working farm at the foot of Moel Siabod – part of the Snowdonia mountain range – the site offers stunning views of the surrounding area.

The first hut offers a sleeping area for 2 people, with the second providing a living area. For larger groups, the pod can accommodate a further 2 people. With the popular Betws-y-Coed only 3 miles away, there’s plenty to do or you can just unwind in the hot tub and watch life on the farm.
